5 Tips by Content Creator Sylvia Fountaine on How to Seek a Healthy and Balanced Life

Sylvia Fountaine has worked in the culinary arts for over 25 years (establishing Mizuna Restaurant with Tonia Schemmel, then founding Feast Catering Co.). She’s learned a few tips on how to make cooking more approachable and fun. Even though she eats mostly plant-based, she doesn’t judge or categorize meals as “good” or “bad.” She just tries to eat foods that make her feel energized, alive, light, and cheerful. These are usually plants!

According to Sylvia, a healthy lifestyle is recommended for everybody who wants to feel their best and stay healthy as they age. However, we are inundated with so much information every day that determining what is best for our health may be complex, and preventative healthcare can be a confusing topic. Different health messages are put out, and choosing the right way can be difficult. On the other hand, leading a healthy lifestyle is not complicated. Hence, she highlights some important tips to seek a healthy and balanced life.

Adopt healthy eating patterns

Choose foods with minimal bad fats, low sugar, and organic components to eat healthy foods. Reduce your intake of sweets and replace them with whole fruits, freshly squeezed juices, and whole-grain bread. Knowing that calories burned should exceed calories consumed is the key to losing weight and remaining fit. It’s crucial not to starve yourself because if you satisfy that insatiable appetite all at once, you’ll soon gain weight. Instead, 5-6 times a day, consume minor quantities of healthful meals.

Avoid negativity in your life

A healthy lifestyle necessitates a good mindset. Flawed individuals and negative thoughts are unnecessary in your life. Simply avoid a buddy that you feel is negative. Overeating is more likely to occur when one is upset; thus, keeping a good attitude can help you prevent an unhealthy dependency on food to make you happy.

Prioritize relationships

Spend meaningful time with family and friends. Be empathetic. Face each other and have a conversation. It’s not quality time if you’re sitting together on your gadgets. Social support can help you maintain excellent mental health and enhance your stress-coping abilities.

Be active

One should not exercise once a week or once a month but should do it every day. Moving your body for 30 minutes a day will help you live longer, lessen your disease risk, and boost your bone density.

Increase your water intake

Even though our bodies require water to operate correctly, most do not drink enough water daily. Water is necessary for internal functioning, waste elimination, and the transportation of nutrients and oxygen throughout our systems. Hence water is an integral part of a healthy routine.
