Instagram Influencer Dr. Ketam Hamdan Aims to Teach Muslim Leaders about Healing through Religion and Psychology

Dr. Ketam Hamdan enjoys a massive following on social media and has gained the trust of thousands of followers when it comes to mental health and awareness. A Harvard graduate and Ph.D. scholar, Dr. Hamdan is a Muslim psychologist and licensed therapist. Her journey over the years through self-awareness and healing has helped her build a unique outlook of modern-day psychological dilemmas that have gripped us.

One of these dilemmas is loneliness, which almost goes hand in hand with leadership. One of the biggest problems of powerful politicians, executives, and leaders is feeling lonely surrounded by people. As an executive consultant, Dr. Hamdan observed how loneliness affects leaders up close. She says, “I always was amazed how lonely it was at the top and how people turn off their souls when they go to work. I decided to research and figure this out because I also did the same and knew this was unhealthy. I learned that integrating your soul at work was the key to success.”

Her years of research and study led her to conclude the significance of the psychological health of leaders. According to Dr. Hamdan, “Organizations are made up of leaders as at the end of the day. If you focus on influencing and transforming the top 2% of leaders around the world, you can have a trickle-down effect and impact so many more people.”

Today, Dr. Hamdan uses her influence to train leaders’ minds and help them connect to their inner selves. She tells them to stop searching for happiness outside but find it inside. She integrates science concepts with spirituality to educate and reinforce the philosophies of ancient wisdom. While her Instagram profile @brainhealthdoc is a recent venture, Dr. Hamdan has been practicing at her private clinic to help her clients live a purpose-driven life and be the inspiring leaders they are meant to be.

According to Dr. Hamdan, modern lives are fragmented and completely distorted. Spirituality, work, family, health, and all the essential aspects of our lives are separated. The lack of connection has made us dissatisfied, unhappy, and lonely. She believes that all parts need to integrate and work together at all times. She preaches the concept of

Total Intelligence; living a life that is more whole and integrating our EQ (emotional intelligence), PQ (physical intelligence), brilliance (IQ), and spiritual intelligence (SQ).

She aims to educate Muslim professionals on how religion cannot heal independently. No matter how much you turn to God, it can not address the internal wounds of not feeling worthy. Psychology and spirituality need to go hand in hand to make healing possible.

Dr. Hamdan currently also serves as the co-founder and Development Director of Annisa Organization, a non-profit trauma center serving the Muslim community in America.
